NOTICES:

1] Tea/CoffeeEnjoy fellowship in Channelkirk and Lauder Churches after each service 

2] Session Clerk: We congratulate Billy Anderson of 30, Orchard Park, Lauder on election

to the office of Session Clerk. Billy will be provided with a laptop and internet facilities. In the meantime, to contact Billy, his home number is 722848 and his mobile is 07901932612.  

3] The Board: The next meeting is 7pm, Thursday, March 25th. We are blessed to have Ian Haynes as incoming Clerk. Graeme Donald will act as Temporary Chairman in the meeting.

4] Used Stamps: These are recycled for Guild funds! Please leave them at the door. We’ve had an encouraging response. It is appreciated if stamps can be left untrimmed. Thank you.

5] Church Member Classes: The classes conclude on Tuesday 23rd March.  Members of the class take the vows on March 28th.  Session meets at 11.20am to receive new members.

6] Prayer Meeting: This meets Wednesdays in Lauder Church Centre at 7pm. The Church is open daily to submit requests to the prayer post box: it is checked at least twice weekly.

7] Gift Aid Organiser: The congregation benefits greatly from returns on tax and as Billy Anderson is moving to the Clerkship of Session, it’s necessary to find someone discreet and reliable who will do this vital work on our behalf. Please pray for someone to be raised up.

8] Arts & Crafts Group:  Group members offer a warm welcome Thursday mornings to any interested, no matter your level of expertise (or lack of it). Non-judgmental help given.  Call Hanna:722900. This group is enjoyed by all. NB: No Class on April 1stHonestly! ;-)

9] House Groups: The 59, Brownsmuir Park Group meets on alternate Mondays at 7pm; Oxton Group (22 Justice Park) 7.30pm, and 40, Thirlestane Drive, Lauder 7.30pm also. All welcome. These house groups point the way to the future, where people share living faith. 10] Pot Luck Supper: The next is in the Church Centre, Lauder: 7pm, Monday March 29.

11] Blythswood CareContributions to Blythswood Care are uplifted from The Lodge at Carfraemill on the first Tuesday of every month; 12.15-12.45. Note the change of time.

12] Learn to Knit:  Church Centre, Lauder, 1245 - 2.45pm, term-time Mondays. The class includes embroidery & crochet. Last week was well attended. Well done, Caroline Haynes!

13] Annual Painted Egg Competition: This will be in Lauder Church on Saturday, 3rd April, 2010. Entries must be registered in the church by 10:30am.  Tea/coffee are available in the Church Centre [10am - 11am], followed by results and prizes. Eggs may be painted, dyed or drawn on butnothing should be stuck on themThe age categories are: under 5s, 5&6, 7&8, 9-11, 12-17, 18+, 60+. By popular demand there will be an additional prize for the most humorous egg (any age!) In addition the “Stewart Vase” will be awarded to the best Sunday Club entry on a religious theme. Easter egg prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd in each category! New for this year! Egg Painting Workshop!! - in Lauder Church Centre, Friday 2nd April from 3-5pm.  Bring a boiled egg to be decorated at a fun workshop! Open to all!

14] Gifts for God 2010Our Stewardship Campaign, led by Billy Anderson, gathers pace.

Dates for your diary: a] Sunday, 18th April – 11.30am Rev Gordon Jamieson, Church of Scotland Head of Stewardship, leads a joint service in Lauder Kirk to launch the Gifts for God programme, the theme of which is: ‘Christian stewardship in a biblical context.

b] Monday, 19th April - 7:30pm Church Centre - Visitors Briefing.  c] 19th April, 10th May -Planning Group meetings. d] 4th / 5th June - Congregational Family Meal (Details later.) e] 4th July- Thanksgiving Service. Please pray for this new, participatory approach, which will include all out activities and generate enthusiasm for our congregation’s work.

15] Easter Services: Maundy Thursday, 7pm. Good Friday, 7pm. Both are held in Lauder Church.Communion is celebrated at the Maundy Thursday Service. All are welcome.
