When He cometh, when He cometh
to make up His jewels,
all His jewels, precious jewels,
his loved and his own.
Refrain: Like the stars of the morning,
His brightness adorning,
they shall shine in their beauty,
bright gems for His crown.
He will gather, He will gather
the gems for His kingdom;
all the pure ones, all the bright ones,
His loved and his own.
Refrain: Like the stars of the morning,
His brightness adorning,
they shall shine in their beauty,
bright gems for His crown.
Little children, little children,
who love their Redeemer,
are the jewels, precious jewels,
His loved and His own.
Refrain: Like the stars of the morning,
His brightness adorning,
they shall shine in their beauty,
bright gems for His crown.
I feel the winds of God today:
I feel the winds of God today; today my sail I lift,
Though heavy, oft with drenching spray, and torn with many a rift;
If hope but light the water’s crest, and Christ my bark will use,
I’ll seek the seas at His behest, and brave another cruise.
It is the wind of God that dries my vain regretful tears,
Until with braver thoughts shall rise the purer, brighter years;
If cast on shores of selfish ease or pleasure I should be;
Lord, let me feel Thy freshening breeze, and I’ll put back to sea.
If ever I forget Thy love and how that love was shown,
Lift high the blood red flag above; it bears Thy Name alone.
I feel the winds of God today, today my sail I lift.

2] Church Membership Classes: Bruce will give evening (or weekend) classes for those who wish to profess their Faith in Jesus and take Five Vows of Membership, in line with His command: Matt. 10:29-39; 28:18-20. TheVows and Course Content : i] Faith: Do you believe in One God, Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and do you confess Jesus Christ as Saviour and Lord? [Jesus; The Trinity; Holy Spirit; Faith.] ii] Worship: Do you promise to join regularly with your fellow Christians in worship on the Lord's Day? [The Sabbath; the Christian Sunday & CongregationalLife.] iii] Spiritual Life: Do you promise to be faithful in reading the Bible and in prayer? [What the Bible is; how it was written and translated; Prayer]. iv] Contribution: Do you promise to give a fitting proportion of your time, talents and money for the Church's work in the world? [Members in Christ’s Body and how we can make a difference.] v] Witness: Do you promise, depending on the grace of God, to profess publicly your loyalty to Jesus Christ, serve Him in your daily work and walk in His ways all the days of your life? [Living for Jesus quietly and effectively.] Each class lasts 1hr, is easy and friendly, with NO ‘exams’. To sign up for your convenient time, call Bruce: 722320. Anyone is invited to join in, even if already a member, as a ‘refresher course’ in Faith.
3] Prayer Meeting: Resumes on Wednesday, January 13th, in Lauder Church Centre, 7pm.
4] Congregational Board: The Board will meet on Thursday 21st January 2010, at 7pm.
5] Memorial Garden: There is some support for the suggestion to form a small Memorial Garden in the churchyard. This idea will be considered in January by the Congregational Board. If you have any comment on this thoughtful notion, please speak with the Clerk.
6] Services: Could you read in Church? Pray? Tell a story of Faith? Talk to children? The Worship Group seeks new volunteers particularly during these weeks of December and January but all year in fact. Call Bob Towers: 722240. Also: lots of jobs on the Board!
7] Arts & Crafts Group: This popular class has been meeting in Lauder Church Centre on Thursday mornings. The group resumes after the holidays on January 7th. Members of the class offer a warm welcome to anyone interested in joining them, no matter their level of expertise (or lack of it). Non-judgmental help given. For details, call Hanna at 722900.
8] Burns Supper: Our annual Burns Supper will be held on Friday 22nd January at 7.30 in The Lodge at Carfraemill through the kind hospitality of Jo and Jim Sutherland. Tickets (£15.00) are available from Graeme Donald and Finlay Calder.
9] Used Postage Stamps: We are all receiving increased post so there is bound to be a lot of stamps to be recycled for Guild Funds! Leave them at the Kirk door, please!
10] Flower List Help Needed! There is a new Flower List in the vestibule: members are encouraged to add their names. When you do, we have a fine show of flowers and the more volunteers we have, the less often the same persons have to do it.
